Appearance
The shiny metallic appearance of this mixer is the first thing that gets your complete attention. Its housing is made of high-quality ABS plastic and gives a pristine look, and adds to its weight.
There’s a metallic stripe that gives it a close resemblance to the Kitchenaid Artisan stand mixer. Since it has a square-shaped body, it is compact and easily fits in small kitchens and corners.
You’ll find a prominent speed-controlling knob on its side. This knob is surrounded by an LED that lights up when you turn it on. Above the knob is a metal lever that helps tilt its head to replace attachments.
Capacity
This stand mixer comes with a 6.5-quart mixing capacity, enough for maxing two dozen sugar cookies or whipping 1.5 dozen egg whites. This capacity is suitable for small baking business owners and those with prominent families.
If you’re someone who loves massive baking like us, you’re going to enjoy its mixing capacity to the optimum. It mixed our big batches of dough well enough to make four pizzas at a time.
Durability
It has impressive durability primarily because of its sturdy housing. We used and abused it and found it a durable option. Weighing 13.4 pounds, its heaviness adds to its stability and ability to work with stiffer doughs without wobbling.
We used it rigorously to make all sorts of dough. There were no scratches, and the body didn’t wobble. You’ll love it if you like to make pasta, as it kneads this type of stiff dough within minutes.
The additional durability is given by its four strong suction cups present on the base of the stand mixer. Under heavy load, these cups prevent sliding or bouncing of the mixer during bulk mixing.
Performance
We loved its performance because of two reasons, first is its extensive speed levels and second is its powerful motor.
With its ten-speed levels, you can precisely control the mixing speed of your ingredients. This is especially beneficial if you make ganache and sauces now and then. Take note that the transition between every speed is very smooth.
Besides speed levels, you’ll also get a pulse mixing mode that works best for shredding, blitzing, and crumbling without overheating the ingredients. We use it to make quick pie dough, giving great flaky dough as it doesn’t melt the butter while mixing.
The speed mixing is aided by its powerful 660 watts motor. The pure copper motor prevents overheating and gives maximum power under high load. Compared to other metal motors, the copper motor is more energy efficient and doesn’t compromise on mixing. We made the batter for two dozen muffins, giving us a fluffy and well-mixed batter in less than 10 minutes.
Our favorite part of this stand mixer is its overheating protection. With its heat sensor, the stand mixer automatically shuts off when you’re overworking it, preventing any damage to the stand mixer and enhancing its longevity.
Accessories & Their Performance
The stand mixer includes four mixing attachments and additional accessories discussed below.
- The first one is the metal dough hook used to knead the dough. This attachment works best if you start it on low-speed levels like 1-4. It efficiently manages stiff dough at low speeds and kneads it in under 10 minutes.
- The second attachment is its Teflon-coated beater. We use it to make the ganache, sticky batters, choux pastry, and shredding chicken. It works best in the medium speed range, with 3-6 speed levels. It provides uniform mixing, but for a thorough mix, we recommend scraping the bowl sides frequently for a better mixture.
- The third is the metal whisk that makes the best-whipped cream and meringue. We love to use it for making whipped items like pavlova, chiffon, cheesecake, and marshmallows. It gives the best results in 6-10 speed levels.
- Last is the splash guard that prevents all the splattering messes when using the stand mixer. This splash quart has a hatchet that allows you to incorporate ingredients while mixing.
The additional accessories include a rubber spatula that helps you to escape the side of the stand mixer bowl and empty it. Another accessory is the egg yolk separator which we found highly useful as a baking enthusiast. These additional accessories make cooking easier.
Price
While highly functional, this stand mixer fits all pockets. Whether you are a beginner or someone with a tight budget, this stand mixer will give you all the results that an expensive stand mixer has without breaking the bank.
